co-mrkt is an inclusive community amplifying emerging AAPI creators in Los Angeles through events, collaborations, and activations. In honor of AAPI Heritage month, our partner co-mrkt will have their curated market featuring local, AAPI artists, creatives and makers—just in time for mother’s/mother figure’s day shopping! May 2023 marks the two year anniversary since the first co-mrkt event. This project was created in response to the rise of anti-Asian violence, hoping to activate joy within the community and to create a space where AAPI could feel seen, heard and empowered to live authentically without fear.

This year, we’re excited to collaborate with Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC), Kizuna, and Tanoshii Project Inc (Taste of Japan) as part of the Go Little Tokyo initiative to celebrate Little Tokyo's 140th anniversary.
Art installations will be on view for the full month of May for #AAPIHeritageMonth.
