Wildfire relief
care packages for Los Angeles firefighters
Los Angeles has been my home for most of my life. The Eaton Fire in Altadena especially, hits close to home. The Angeles National Forest has been my safe haven for years—a place I’ve turned to when I needed to clear my head, find peace, or simply reconnect with nature. I’ve spent countless hours on those trails, creating memories that I will treasure forever. It’s devastating to know that so much of this beautiful place has been lost, and it will never be the same again.
Even more devastating is the loss so many in our community are facing. A home is more than a structure—it’s a sanctuary. While my home is safe, I know several families who have lost everything, and my heart aches deeply for each person navigating this unimaginable pain.
Amid this tragedy, I’ve been inspired by the strength and compassion of our community, as well as the sacrifices made by firefighters, first responders, and volunteers who have risked everything to protect lives, homes, and our wild spaces. Their courage reminds us of the resilience and kindness that unite us.
I’m doing what I can to help by creating care packages for our heroes and those impacted. These include thoughtfully selected items designed to provide relief and support: HEAL SALVE for parched skin, burns, scars, and irritation; RELIEF SALVE to ease tired muscles, soothe headaches, and bring comfort; and HERBAL TEAS & STEAMS FOR RESPIRATORY AND IMMUNE SUPPORT to nourish, protect, and reduce stress caused by exacerbated wildfire conditions.
My goal is to distribute 300+ packages directly to fire stations and organizations in need in the weeks to come—for as long as I am able.
If you’d like to contribute, I’ve set up a donation page, and as a thank-you, every $20 donation enters you into a raffle to win one of five $100 gift cards to my online shop. I’m also donating 100% of my online sales profits through January to support these efforts.
While I wish I had more practical items to offer those who have been displaced, I do have plenty of candles and personal care goods that can provide small yet meaningful comforts. I truly believe that something as simple as a familiar scent or lighting a candle can help bring a sense of peace and normalcy during such uncertain times. If you or someone you know could benefit from anything in my shop, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I want to help in any way I can, and I’m more than happy to provide what I have to offer. Together, even small gestures can make a big difference.
Thank you for standing with me to support our neighbors and rebuild our community. Together, we can bring hope and relief to those who need it most. Hold your loved ones close—we’re walking through this together.
With love,
Joanna
